Doris Ogala Vows Retaliation After Pastor Chris Okafor Retracts Apology and Brands Her ‘Jezebel’

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has lashed out at Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation International Ministry (also known as Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry), after he withdrew a previous apology and referred to her as a “Jezebel.”

The controversy, rooted in allegations of a secret years-long romantic relationship, has exposed tensions between celebrity culture, religious leadership, and personal accountability in Nigeria’s entertainment and faith communities.

The latest twist unfolded just hours after Okafor, in a widely circulated video from his church service, made a stark U-turn on his December 2025 public apology to Ogala and other women he claimed to have “wronged in the past.” During the sermon, the pastor denied ever meeting Ogala face-to-face or committing any offense against her, insisting that his earlier gesture of kneeling in apology was solely out of respect for church elders and “fathers of faith,” not for “any Jezebel anywhere.

Ogala, known for her roles in popular Nigerian films, did not hold back in her response. Taking to Instagram, she posted a fiery message: “Na me you call Jezebel Abi. You don’t know who jazibel be. Because I was pitying u. I will show you what Jazibel Dey do.”

In an accompanying video on her page, she doubled down, accusing Okafor of pride and inconsistency. “Chris, maybe you think this thing is a joke. Do you think I care about your apology? I said you will crawl and apologize to me, but you think I’m joking. That one you kneel down to do at your church is not enough. I said you will crawl; you will lie down and crawl on the floor and beg me,” she said.

Ogala also referenced court documents where Okafor allegedly admitted to their relationship, adding, “You earlier admitted in a court paper that we actually dated. I’m glad that God is actually exposing you.” She went on to question his pastoral integrity: “I want you guys to see the pastor who preaches in the church. A pastor who came out and apologized. Pride got into him again, and he came back to say he’s not sorry; he’s not apologetic.”

The feud traces back to late 2025, when Ogala publicly accused Okafor of entering a romantic and sexual relationship with her starting in 2017, during which he allegedly promised marriage and convinced her to end her previous marriage.

The actress claimed the pastor “destroyed her life” after he abruptly ended the affair to marry another woman, identified as Pearl. Ogala escalated the matter by issuing an ultimatum: marry her or pay N1 billion in damages for breach of promise.

She also alleged more serious wrongdoing, including Okafor’s involvement in the poisoning and death of her brother, lying about the paternity of his children, and attempts to silence her. These claims led to Ogala’s brief arrest, intensifying public scrutiny.

Okafor initially responded with a public apology on December 28, 2025, bowing to pressure and expressing remorse in a church setting. However, in his recent retraction, he maintained his innocence and shifted the matter to the legal system, stating he would no longer engage publicly.

As the dispute heads toward potential legal proceedings, both parties appear entrenched. Ogala, in her video, hinted at a loss of restraint: “Do you think this person cares about anything anymore? In case you guys don’t know, nothing makes sense to me anymore.” Okafor’s camp has remained silent on her latest threats, but the pastor’s reference to “Jezebel,” a biblical figure symbolizing wickedness and seduction, has fueled accusations of misogyny and deflection.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

After Pastor Chris Okafor withdrew his earlier public apology, denied ever knowing actress Doris Ogala, and branded her a “Jezebel,” Ogala responded with fierce defiance on Instagram. She mocked the “Jezebel” label, declared she would now show him “what Jezebel dey do,” and escalated her demands, insisting that the pastor’s kneeling apology was insufficient—he must “crawl on the floor” and beg her publicly.
