The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced the release of results for candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18.

According to the board, a total of 1,264,940 results from the two examination days have been made available for candidates to access. This latest development brings the cumulative number of released results so far to 1,897,692.

Earlier, the examination body had confirmed the release of 632,752 results for candidates who sat for the test on Thursday, April 16, marking the first batch of results in the ongoing exercise.

JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed that candidates can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number linked to their registration.

The 2026 UTME commenced nationwide on Thursday, with millions of candidates sitting for the examination across various accredited computer-based test centres in the country.

The board continues to oversee the conduct and release of results as the examination progresses, maintaining its established system for result access through SMS channels.

What you should know

The release of over 1.2 million UTME results marks a significant phase in Nigeria’s tertiary admission process.

JAMB continues to use its SMS-based system to ensure secure and direct access to results for candidates. With nearly 1.9 million results already released, the examination process is progressing steadily nationwide. Candidates are advised to use only official channels to check their scores and avoid fraudulent platforms.

The UTME remains a critical requirement for admission into Nigerian higher institutions, making timely result access essential for candidates planning their academic next steps this year.
