There was mild drama on Monday morning in Ijebu-Ode as former governor and senator Gbenga Daniel was denied access to the venue of the Ogun East Caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress.
The meeting, scheduled to take place at Adeola Odutola College, was disrupted when Daniel arrived but was unable to gain entry, with the gate reportedly locked against him.
Videos circulating from the scene captured party supporters chanting “OGD! OGD!” in solidarity with the former governor, while one of his aides was seen engaging individuals stationed behind the closed gate.
In another clip, Daniel addressed his supporters from his white coaster campaign bus branded BAT/OGD Movement, expressing surprise at the development.

“We are here for our Ogun East APC caucus meeting, but surprisingly, we have been barred. We are told that we can’t enter.
“Let it be said that whatever they do here today is null and void,” he declared.
Further findings indicated that the invitation notice for the emergency stakeholders’ meeting, issued by party leaders in Ijebu-Ode, included a wide range of expected attendees such as deputy governors, past and current local government chairmen, councillors, and both serving and former members of the state and National Assembly.
The incident has raised questions about internal dynamics within the APC in Ogun State, particularly regarding inclusion and decision-making processes at the caucus level.
