The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) has unveiled its shortlists for the Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year honors, with a number of the Premier League’s top talents making the cut.
Three Arsenal players, Gabriel Magalhães, David Raya, and Declan Rice, feature among the six contenders for the Men’s award, a nod to their contributions in guiding the club to the Premier League title.
Completing the shortlist are Manchester City duo Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland, along with Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes.
On the women’s side, defending champion Bunny Shaw is looking to hold onto her title. The Manchester City forward is accompanied by club colleague Yui Hasegawa, Chelsea’s Lauren James, and Arsenal’s Alessia Russo. Rounding out the six nominees are Aston Villa winger Kirsty Hanson and Manchester United’s Jess Park.
The PFA also disclosed the contenders for the Men’s Young Player of the Year prize. Cherki earns a double nomination, appearing on this list as well. He is joined by Arsenal youngster Max Dowman, Bournemouth’s Junior Kroupi, Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha, and Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly.
