Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has been declared missing by his family, who have petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) for urgent assistance. According to their lawyer, Wilson Anuge, the singer left his home on February 10, 2025, in his loungewear, presumably for his usual morning walk, but never returned. Despite extensive efforts from family, friends, and his record label, no contact has been established, raising concerns over his safety and well-being.
The family expressed their deep distress, noting that 2Baba has never disappeared without communication, nor has he ever abandoned his professional commitments. Suspicion grew after some of his close friends received messages from what appeared to be his social media accounts, soliciting financial aid—an unusual request given his financial independence. This led his family to fear that he may have been abducted and that his identity is being exploited for fraudulent purposes.
In their petition, the Idibia family urged the DSS to leverage its expertise in locating the missing singer. They stressed that beyond his celebrity status, 2Baba’s disappearance has thrown his family, music career, and business ventures into turmoil. His wife, children, and loved ones are all in a state of distress, and they believe urgent intervention is necessary.
Meanwhile, adding to the confusion, a viral video emerged showing 2Baba proposing to Edo State House of Assembly member Natasha Osaruwa. The footage surfaced just hours after reports of his alleged divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia, fueling widespread speculation.
His mother, Rose Idibia, has since released a heartfelt video appealing to Nigerians to intervene. She urged Natasha to release her son, stating that he had not been himself lately. Her emotional plea has intensified public concern over the singer’s situation, leaving fans and well-wishers eager for answers.
