Rose Idibia, mother of veteran singer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has publicly called on Nigerians to intervene, urging Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru to stop pursuing her son.

In a viral video, Mrs. Idibia expressed concern over 2Baba’s mental state, emphasizing that he is not himself due to his ongoing divorce from Annie Idibia. She further alleged that Osawaru had placed spiritual beads on him and pleaded for their removal.

2Baba, who announced his separation from Annie in January 2025, has since sparked speculation about a romantic involvement with Osawaru. The rumors intensified after videos emerged of him proposing to the lawmaker at a Lagos club.

Addressing the controversy, 2Baba defended Osawaru, clarifying that she had no role in his marital issues. He also affirmed his love for her, confirming his intentions to marry her despite the backlash.

He expressed, “Hon. Natasha has been dragged and called all sorts of names. She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and had nothing to do with what happened between me and Annie. Yes, I love her, and I want to marry her.”

The unfolding drama has triggered mixed reactions online, with fans and critics divided over 2Baba’s new relationship and the emotional plea from his mother.
