Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Abba Yusuf has expressed confidence in the political strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that no other party can rival its dominance in Kano State and across Nigeria.
Speaking to a large crowd of supporters who filled major streets in Kano to welcome him back from APC engagements in Abuja, the governor dismissed the prospects of opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting that the APC remains the only viable political force capable of winning elections at all levels.
“APC in Kano State is the only winning party. There is no other party that can take control of Kano and Nigeria, by the grace of Allah,” he said.
Governor Yusuf also addressed critics who have labeled him a one-term governor, maintaining that his political future within the APC is firmly secured.
“We did one term in NNPP and left. We will do the second term in APC. There are two terms in APC, the party of the people,” he stated.
Reaffirming his loyalty to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the governor assured that Kano State would stand solidly behind the president’s re-election bid in 2027.
“We in Kano are fully behind Mr President and will support his re-election, by the grace of Allah,” he added, while praising Tinubu’s efforts toward economic growth and infrastructure development.

The governor further reiterated his administration’s commitment to governance, promising sustained investments in critical sectors such as education, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
“We will continue to deliver dividends of democracy in education, infrastructure, health, agriculture, and youth empowerment for both men and women,” he said.
He also called on eligible voters to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the next elections.
“I call on all of you to rededicate yourselves to the service of our great party and ensure you register with INEC so that you can come out and support APC in 2027,” he appealed.
Meanwhile, the Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Doguwa, described the massive turnout during the governor’s reception as a clear sign of strong grassroots support.
“The crowd you have seen today is a clear indication that the people are ready to return the governor for a second term,” he noted.
The governor’s convoy reportedly took several hours to travel from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to the Government House due to the overwhelming number of supporters lining the route, a journey that typically takes about 15 minutes under normal conditions.
