Taofeek Arapaja, the National Secretary of the Seyi Makinde-backed Turaki faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has resigned from the party.
Following his resignation, Arapaja met with the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, ahead of his planned defection to the APC.

Reports also indicate that Arapaja recently met with President Bola Tinubu as part of consultations over his proposed move to the APC.
Arapaja is a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State and also served as the National Deputy Chairman (South) of the PDP.
As of the time this report was filed, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde had not commented on Arapaja’s resignation or his planned defection to the APC.
