Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has secured victory in the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary for Ogun East Senatorial District, emerging as the party’s candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The primary election was conducted across the nine local government areas that make up the district, as part of the APC’s nationwide internal process to select candidates for the upcoming polls.

The outcome of the exercise was officially announced by the returning officer for Ogun East Senatorial District, Wale Bello, at Itoro Hall in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.

Announcing the result, Bello disclosed that Abiodun garnered 75,560 votes out of the 99,503 registered voters who participated in the primary election, securing a commanding lead to clinch the party’s ticket.

Reacting to his victory, Governor Abiodun expressed gratitude to God and members of the ruling party for their support throughout the exercise.
