Veteran actress Iyabo Ojo, affectionately known to her fans as Queen Mother, has issued a stern legal warning to her colleague, actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, better known as “Baba Ijesha.”

The fresh confrontation erupted following Baba Ijesha’s appearance on the Talk to B podcast, hosted by actress Biola Adebayo.

In the interview, which went viral over the weekend, Baba Ijesha adamantly denied being a pedophile while addressing longstanding allegations that led to his high-profile conviction in 2022.

During the candid discussion, Baba Ijesha specifically referenced his past relationship with Iyabo Ojo, claiming that she had once entrusted her children, Festus and Priscilla, to his care when they were younger.

He presented the anecdote as evidence to counter the serious accusations against him, insisting it demonstrated his character and trustworthiness around minors.

The remarks did not sit well with Iyabo Ojo, who played a vocal and visible role in condemning Baba Ijesha during his original trial.

In a pointed response shared via her Instagram story, the actress firmly rejected the claim as false and misleading. She emphasized that her children have always been under the supervision of nannies or her late mother and never left alone in such circumstances.

Iyabo Ojo wrote:

“The court found you guilty based on evidence, so please don’t drag my children into this, or else I will direct my counsel to serve you appropriate papers.”

She also added that she had “no problem” with Baba Ijesha narrating his side of events, but drew a hard line against using her children as “cheap bait” in his defense. She described any continued mention of them as unacceptable and signaled readiness to pursue legal remedies, including a cease-and-desist directive through her lawyers.

Baba Ijesha was arrested after a viral video allegedly showed him sexually assaulting a then-14-year-old girl, who was the foster daughter of comedienne Princess (Damilola Adekoya).

In July 2022, a Lagos State High Court convicted him on multiple counts—including indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault—sentencing him to 16 years imprisonment (to run concurrently, effectively five years).

He was released in late 2025 after serving his term, amid some appeal-related developments that adjusted certain charges but did not fully overturn the core conviction, according to reports.

Iyabo Ojo was among several industry figures who publicly supported the victim and criticized Baba Ijesha during the trial, earning both praise for advocating against child abuse and backlash from those who questioned aspects of the case.

The Talk to B interview itself has drawn significant backlash toward host Biola Adebayo, with some social media users accusing her of platforming a convicted individual in a way that reopens old wounds.

Meanwhile, Baba Ijesha’s decision to revisit his past ties to Iyabo Ojo has intensified the drama, turning what might have been a personal reflection into a public flashpoint.

As of now, no formal legal filings have been confirmed, but Iyabo Ojo’s warning underscores her determination to protect her family’s privacy amid the renewed scrutiny.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Iyabo Ojo has firmly warned Baba Ijesha to stop mentioning her children in his public statements, threatening fresh legal action if he continues.
