A suspected bomb explosion has hit Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, with many people feared dead.
No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion. However, some residents believe the improvised explosive device (IED) may have been detonated by terrorists linked to Boko Haram.
It will be recalled that last month, at least 75 people were killed and several houses were burned when suspected terrorists attacked Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area.
Following that attack, Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered the deployment of an army battalion to the area.
No official statement has been released regarding the latest explosions which occurred on Monday.
As of the time this report was filed, attempts to reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, were unsuccessful.
