Governor Appoints New HOS, Attorney-General, Others

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has approved the appointment of several top officials and special advisers in a move aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery in Anambra State.

The appointments were announced in a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, and cut across critical sectors such as administration, justice, health, innovation, and community security.

Among the key appointments, Mrs. Ngozi Iwouno was named Head of Service, while Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, was appointed as Attorney-General of the state.

Joachin Anetoh will serve as Principal Secretary to the Governor, with Ben Nwankwo appointed Chief of Staff. Frank-Collins Okafor was also named State Chief of Protocol.

Other appointees include Aburime, who continues in his role as Chief Press Secretary, Vincent Okechi as Deputy Chief of Staff, and Ms. Ngozi Lucy Okoye as Deputy State Chief of Protocol.

The governor also announced several special advisers, including Dr. Godwin Nnadozie (Medicals and Pharmaceuticals), Ms. Chinwe Okoli (Innovation and Business Incubation), Ebuka Nwankwo (Special Projects), and Mr. Ken Emeakayi (Community Security).

The appointments come as the Soludo administration continues efforts to deepen reforms and strengthen institutional capacity across the state.

Following his re-election, Soludo has repeatedly stressed his commitment to continuity in governance and the delivery of his development agenda, with a focus on economic transformation, improved security, and infrastructure development.

In a recent media chat, the governor pointed to progress in key sectors, particularly in security and investment, while reaffirming his administration’s determination to sustain reforms.

The latest appointments also follow recent efforts to promote inclusivity in governance, including the appointment of Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake as the first female Secretary to the State Government.
