Iyabo Ojo Issues Public Warning Against Rival Lizzy Anjorin Amid Legal Dispute

A long-standing rivalry between two prominent Nigerian actresses has taken a dramatic turn, with Iyabo Ojo publicly warning that her longtime adversary, Lizzy Anjorin, should be held responsible if any harm comes to her or her family.

The confrontation unfolded during an Instagram Live session, where Ojo addressed recent claims made by Anjorin regarding a defamation lawsuit. The timing of Ojo’s warning is particularly significant, coming just days after her office was destroyed in a fire.

The current escalation centers around conflicting accounts of a defamation case. Anjorin had claimed victory in a viral social media video, announcing that the lawsuit filed against her by Ojo had been “struck out in court.” However, Ojo vehemently disputed this characterization during her live broadcast.

“We have not started the case yet. That is just ADR,” Ojo stated, referring to Alternative Dispute Resolution proceedings. She explained that the judge had dismissed the preliminary proceedings in favor of seeking peace between the parties, contradicting Anjorin’s portrayal of a legal victory.

The dispute has evolved beyond courtroom proceedings into personal territory. Anjorin had accused Ojo of “associating with people who bully her,” a claim that Ojo rejected while asserting her independence in choosing her associations.

“You said I always associate myself with those who bully you. Lizzy, we aren’t friends, and I do not owe you any explanation about who I choose to be close to,” Ojo declared during the live session.

The actress’s most striking statement came in the form of a direct warning: “If anything happens to me or my children, hold Lizzy Anjorin responsible.” This public declaration suggests Ojo feels genuinely threatened and wants to establish a clear record of her concerns.

The timing of these developments has raised additional questions. Ojo’s office fire, which occurred just days before her public warning, has not been officially linked to the ongoing feud, but the proximity of events has not gone unnoticed by observers.

Adding another layer to the controversy, Ojo revealed that she had been summoned by police over alleged cyberbullying charges just hours before making her public statement. This development indicates that the dispute may have already drawn law enforcement attention.

The entertainment industry in Nigeria has witnessed several high-profile disputes between prominent figures, but the Ojo-Anjorin feud stands out for its persistence and public nature. Both actresses have significant social media followings, and their conflict has played out extensively on these platforms, drawing in fans and fellow celebrities.

The dispute highlights broader issues within the Nigerian entertainment industry, including the role of social media in amplifying conflicts and the challenges of resolving personal disputes when they become public spectacles.
