Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure at least 70 percent of the total votes cast in the state during the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the declaration on Tuesday while hosting members of the presidential media team at a state banquet in Kaduna.

According to him, the projection is based on what he described as President Tinubu’s impressive performance in office, which he said has earned the administration widespread support among Kaduna residents.

Sani stated that despite varying political conversations on social media, the true test of support would be reflected when Nigerians physically cast their votes.

He argued that online narratives do not accurately represent the political reality on the ground.

The governor also maintained that there is currently no formidable opposition to either President Tinubu or the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.

He attributed this to ongoing federal government interventions and infrastructure projects being executed across the state.

“There is no opposition in Kaduna against President Tinubu in 2027, and we make no apologies for that, given his support to the state and its people,” the governor said.

Reflecting on Tinubu’s political background, Sani described the President as a committed democrat and seasoned political activist whose contributions to Nigeria’s democratic evolution remain significant.

He also criticised opposition figures whom he accused of attempting to weaken democratic institutions for political gain.

The governor further argued that the current administration has delivered more tangible benefits to northern Nigeria than previous governments.

As evidence, he cited the approval of major rail and road infrastructure projects worth billions of naira in Kaduna State.

According to him, these projects are expected to significantly improve transportation, stimulate economic activities, and strengthen regional development once completed.

Sani also credited the Tinubu administration with increasing financial allocations to state governments.

He noted that the improved fiscal support has enabled sub-national governments to accelerate development projects and extend services to grassroots communities.

The governor added that stronger collaboration between federal and state authorities has enhanced governance outcomes and improved public service delivery.

He said this growing synergy has contributed to the increasing support for the President across Kaduna State.

Earlier, members of the presidential media team, led by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, inspected ongoing federal government projects in the state.

The inspection tour included sections of the Kaduna–Abuja highway and other strategic infrastructure initiatives.

The visit formed part of efforts by the presidency to showcase key achievements of the Tinubu administration in the North-West region.

What You Should Know

Governor Uba Sani’s projection of a 70 percent vote share for President Tinubu in Kaduna highlights the APC’s growing confidence ahead of the 2027 elections.

Kaduna remains one of the most politically strategic states in northern Nigeria, making such declarations significant for national political calculations. His remarks also reflect the APC’s broader strategy of leveraging infrastructure development and increased federal-state collaboration as key campaign achievements.

However, while the governor insists there is no opposition challenge in Kaduna, political dynamics could still shift as election season draws closer and opposition parties intensify mobilisation efforts.
