A brewing legal battle between two Nigerian music artists has captured public attention as singer Levi Ogbogiri, professionally known as Kraziecent, has taken fellow musician Odumodublvck to court over allegations of assault and battery at a public event last December.

According to court documents filed by Kraziecent’s legal representative, Uchenna Ojembe, the incident allegedly occurred on December 16, 2024, when Odumodublvck purportedly attacked the plaintiff without provocation. Kraziecent maintains he was “peacefully taking videos and pictures” of himself at the event when the confrontation took place.

The lawsuit details claims of both physical assault and property damage, with Kraziecent alleging that his iPhone 15 Pro Max was destroyed during the altercation. Beyond material damages, the plaintiff is seeking compensation for what he describes as significant reputational harm and public humiliation stemming from the incident.

The matter came before Justice Adeyemi Ajayi, who has scheduled the hearing for November 26. However, proceedings hit an early roadblock when it became apparent that the defendant’s legal team had not yet filed a formal response to the allegations, despite having been served with the court papers.

During the brief court session, Ojembe informed Justice Ajayi that “the hearing may not commence because Sheriff Bello, the defendant’s counsel, has not responded.” He subsequently requested an adjournment to allow the defense time to file their response.

Sheriff Bello, representing Odumodublvck, acknowledged the delay and requested additional time “to prepare adequately for the case and put his house in order,” a request the court granted in setting the November date.

The case adds to growing concerns about celebrity conduct in Nigeria’s increasingly prominent music industry, where both artists have cultivated substantial followings. Neither artist has made public statements regarding the allegations outside of the court proceedings.

Legal observers note that assault and battery cases involving public figures often attract significant media attention and can have lasting implications for the reputations of those involved, regardless of the eventual verdict.

The November 26 hearing is expected to mark the substantive beginning of legal proceedings, pending the defendant’s formal response to the allegations.
