The Federal Government (FG) has suspended the recently announced increase in registration fees for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The decision followed widespread criticism and public backlash over the proposed increase in examination fees.
The suspension was announced in a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Education on Monday.
Further details on the development are expected to be released later.
