Diddy Placed in Solitary Confinement

Disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved into solitary confinement after a physical fight with a fellow inmate at the federal facility in New Jersey where he is currently serving his sentence, according to multiple reports citing sources close to the situation.

The incident reportedly unfolded earlier this week at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Hanover Township. Sources say that the confrontation began after another inmate made a disparaging remark toward Combs, prompting the 56-year-old to respond physically.

The two men reportedly exchanged blows before correctional staff intervened and separated them, with sources indicating Combs “held his own” during the brief scuffle.

Following the altercation, Combs was immediately placed into isolated confinement, commonly referred to among inmates as “the hole.” It remains unclear whether the confinement will be temporary or extend into a longer-term disciplinary measure.

As is standard practice, a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the specifics, citing agency policy against discussing conditions of confinement or disciplinary matters involving individual inmates for privacy and security reasons.

Combs has been serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix since October 2025. A jury convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution on July 2, 2025, though he was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking that had been at the center of a high-profile trial.

He was sentenced to 50 months in prison, with time already served counting toward that term, and was also fined $500,000 and ordered to complete five years of supervised release upon his eventual release.

His legal team had specifically requested placement at Fort Dix, citing the facility’s drug rehabilitation program and its proximity to family, factors they argued would support his rehabilitation.

Combs is currently projected for release in February 2028, though that timeline remains contingent on good-behavior credits that could now be jeopardized depending on how prison officials formally classify this week’s incident.

Should prison officials determine that Combs violated facility conduct rules during the altercation, he could face further disciplinary consequences, potentially including an extended stay in solitary confinement or the loss of privileges. As of Thursday, it remained unconfirmed whether he was still being held in isolation.

This is a developing story, and further details are expected as the Bureau of Prisons’ internal review, if one is formally opened, proceeds.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Combs was placed in solitary confinement at FCI Fort Dix this week after a physical fight with a fellow inmate, reportedly sparked by an insult.

This is a disciplinary matter tied to prison conduct, not a new criminal charge. He remains convicted only on prostitution-related transportation counts (having been acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering), and his release is still projected for February 2028, though that timeline could be affected depending on how officials rule on this incident.
