Blord Transferred from Kuje’s Notorious Wing

Celebrity businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has been moved out of a high-risk criminal cell in Kuje Prison following reports of deteriorating health, prison sources and social media updates confirmed.

The relocation comes barely two weeks after a justice of the Federal High Court in Abuja remanded him in the facility for 26 days. Blord was arraigned on multiple criminal counts, including impersonating popular social media personality VeryDarkMan (real name Martins Vincent Otse) and forgery.

VeryDarkMan himself broke the news on his Instagram story late Monday, revealing that the businessman had fallen ill as far back as April 6, 2026. In a screenshot of a WhatsApp message he shared with followers, VDM explained that Blord was transferred from the notorious “Egypt 2” section of Kuje Prison, colloquially described as the “Ajegunle part” where armed robbers and other hardened criminals are housed, to a segregation unit for closer medical attention.

“They had to move him because he was sick,” the message read.

The development has added a fresh layer of drama to an already bitter public feud. Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore had earlier condemned what he described as the unusually swift manner in which Blord was remanded, accusing VeryDarkMan and his legal team of orchestrating “oppression” through the court process.

In response, VeryDarkMan used his Instagram platform not only to update the public on Blord’s condition but also to take a pointed swipe at Sowore. Mocking the activist’s earlier claims that he and his “avengers” could engineer Blord’s release or have the case discontinued, VDM wrote: “Sowore and his avengers don’t have the power to bring Blord out and discontinue the case as he claimed. We are willing to temper mercy.”

The statement, laced with sarcasm, signals that the complainant—VeryDarkMan—may now be open to some form of out-of-court resolution or leniency, even as the case remains active in court.

Legal observers say the 26-day remand was meant to allow investigators time to conclude their probe while keeping the accused in custody. However, the rapid emergence of health concerns has raised questions about prison conditions and the welfare of high-profile inmates, a recurring issue at Kuje Prison, which has in the past faced criticism over overcrowding and inadequate medical facilities.

Blord, a flamboyant figure in Nigerian business and social circles known for his luxury lifestyle and cryptocurrency ventures, has maintained a relatively low profile since his dramatic court appearance.

His supporters have described the charges as politically motivated or the result of a personal vendetta, while VeryDarkMan’s camp insists the matter is a straightforward case of identity theft and forgery that has caused real reputational damage.

As of Tuesday afternoon, neither the Nigerian Correctional Service nor Blord’s legal team had issued an official statement on his current medical status or the exact nature of his illness. VeryDarkMan’s post, however, appears to have calmed some of the online frenzy while simultaneously keeping the pressure on Sowore and his allies.

The case continues to dominate conversations across Nigerian social media, highlighting the growing intersection of celebrity influence, cybercrime allegations, and activist intervention in the country’s justice system. Further updates are expected as Blord’s health situation and the underlying criminal proceedings unfold.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Nigerian businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika (Blord) has been moved from Kuje Prison’s notorious “Egypt 2” criminal wing to segregation due to health concerns that began on April 6, 2026.

Despite the ongoing forgery and impersonation case brought by VeryDarkMan, the social media personality has publicly signaled willingness to “temper mercy,” while dismissing activist Omoyele Sowore’s claims of being able to secure Blord’s release.

Blord’s health remains the immediate priority as the matter stays before the Federal High Court in Abuja
