Members of the Hotel and Personal Service Senior Staff Association have protested at Abuja Continental Hotel over alleged unfair labour practices and concerns about workers’ conditions and unionisation.
The association, which is affiliated with the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), began the protest on Monday by blocking the entrance to the hotel.

Speaking to Channels TV, the union accused the hotel management of failing to address issues relating to workers’ freedom of association and what it described as poor working conditions.
The union also alleged that several attempts to meet with the hotel management had been unsuccessful.
During the protest, the workers attempted to lock the hotel’s gate. However, police officers and some hotel officials resisted the move.
The hotel’s entrance remained blocked by the protesting workers as of the time of reporting.
