Bauchi state Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed sadness over the death of Arc. Audu Sule Katagum, the Wazirin Katagum and former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State.
The former deputy governor died on Monday at a hospital in Abuja.
Bala Mohammed said the passing of Katagum has left a gap in both political and traditional leadership in Bauchi State.
He noted that the late statesman served the state and its people with dedication and humility.
Audu Sule Katagum was described as a loyal public servant who gave much of his life to service.
The governor recalled his time in office as deputy governor during the administration of former Governor Mohammed Abubakar, where he contributed to governance and public development.
He also played roles in other public assignments, including serving as chairman of the governing board of the Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education, Kangere.
According to the governor, Katagum showed commitment to improving education and supporting state growth during his service.
Beyond politics, he was known as an architectural engineer whose work helped in the development of infrastructure in Bauchi State.
His efforts in planning and building projects were seen as part of his lasting contribution to the state’s progress.
Governor Mohammed described him as a man of wisdom and integrity who earned respect across different groups in society.
He urged his family, the Katagum Emirate, and the people of Bauchi State to take comfort in his life of service and the legacy he left behind.
He also prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him peaceful rest.
