President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Shu’aib Aliyu as the new Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, replacing Ahmed Aminu, who stepped down to run for the Adamawa State governorship in 2027.
Aliyu, an experienced academic and administrator, takes over the role immediately.
His appointment is aimed at strengthening the PTDF’s capacity in research, training, and support for Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
The Presidency expects him to use his experience to improve human capital development, encourage innovation, and provide strategic support to the energy industry.
In a related move, Tinubu renewed the appointment of Sule Abdulaziz as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria for a second and final term.
Abdulaziz’s leadership has been credited with stabilizing the national grid, expanding transmission capacity, modernizing the system, and promoting regional electricity cooperation through the West African Power Pool.
The President called on both leaders to perform their duties diligently and with integrity as part of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
