The Managing Director of EeZee Conceptz Limited, Nancy Nnadi, also known as Coach Nancy, has publicly withdrawn her earlier defamatory statements against renowned gospel artiste Mercy Chinwo, as fresh efforts toward an out-of-court settlement gain momentum.
This development follows a protracted legal tussle between Chinwo and her former record label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, widely known as EeZee Tee. In January 2025, Chinwo filed a lawsuit accusing the label executive of diverting over $345,000 in unpaid music royalties — a conflict that stemmed from financial disagreements leading to her departure from the label in 2023.
Amid the dispute, Nnadi had taken to social media to accuse Chinwo of financial impropriety — an allegation that prompted the gospel singer to file a defamation suit against her, demanding a public apology and the removal of all defamatory content.
However, in a recent Instagram post made over the weekend, Nnadi issued a formal retraction of her claims. Citing legal advice and a desire for peace, she expressed hope that reconciliation efforts mediated by respected clerics — whom she referred to as the “Fathers of Faith” — would yield positive results.
“On the advice of my lawyer, and for the sake of peace and love of God, I retract my earlier post about Minister Mercy Chinwo. As well pray that Almighty God perfects ongoing settlement process being facilitated by the Fathers of Faith between her and EeZee Conceptz,” Nnadi posted.
Sources close to both parties confirm that talks have been initiated under the guidance of prominent religious figures, with the goal of resolving the royalty impasse amicably.
The unfolding events mark a significant turn in one of the most high-profile disputes in Nigeria’s gospel music scene, and fans across the country are hopeful that the matter will soon be resolved in the spirit of faith and reconciliation.
