President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is back in the country following his diplomatic missions to Saint Lucia and Brazil.
He landed at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where he was welcomed by a delegation that included the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu; Minister of Defence, Bello Matawalle; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and former Sokoto State governor, Aliyu Wamakko.

According to presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, who shared the update on his X handle, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja Saturday night from his trips to Saint Lucia and Brazil.” He noted that Tinubu was received by top government figures.
Tinubu had departed Nigeria on June 28 for official visits to the Caribbean nation and Brazil. His trip to St Lucia was described as part of efforts “to deepen Nigeria’s engagement with Caribbean nations.” Onanuga added, “First, from the perspective of the Government of Saint Lucia, the visit by the Nigerian leader paves the way for the rekindling of our ancestral bonds, igniting a new era of diplomatic, cultural, and economic possibilities between our nations.”

While in Saint Lucia, the president addressed a joint session of parliament and was awarded the highest national honour — the Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL).
He later travelled to Brazil, specifically Rio de Janeiro, where he attended the BRICS Summit and joined other global leaders. At the summit, Tinubu advocated for the inclusion of low-income countries in global economic decisions.
