Hon. Mohammad Wanzam, the member representing Sakwa Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, has died.
His death was announced on Sunday by the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Sulaiman, through a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi.

According to the statement, Wanzam, who was the chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, died on Sunday morning.
Sulaiman described the late lawmaker as a dedicated public servant who served his constituency and Bauchi State with commitment.
The Speaker prayed for Allah to forgive Wanzam’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also disclosed that the funeral prayer for the late lawmaker would take place at the Gwallaga Juma’at Mosque in Bauchi at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
The statement added, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Sakwa Constituency, Hon. Mohammad Wanzam.”
In a related development, former Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Audu Sule Katagum, has died at the age of 69.
Katagum, who served as deputy governor between 2018 and 2019 under former Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, died in the early hours of Saturday.
His death was announced by Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, digital and creative media aide to the former governor.
