The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nantewe Yilwatda, has disclosed that a group of youths from Kogi State purchased the N100 million presidential nomination form for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

He made this known at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Yilwatda explained that the youths had already paid the full amount required for the form and presented a cheque during a visit to his office.

He said the payment was made in advance, meaning there was no need for any other individual or group within the party to attempt to buy another form for the president.

The APC chairman spoke after receiving Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State, who visited alongside the youths.

During the visit, they presented a N100 million cheque from Zenith Bank to cover the cost of the nomination form for Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027.

Yilwatda thanked the Kogi youths for what he described as an act of loyalty to the party and support for the president.

He said their action showed a new direction among young people in politics, noting that instead of waiting on political leaders, they had chosen to take steps they believed would shape the future.

He stated that since Tinubu assumed office in 2023, his administration had introduced policies and programmes that, in the view of the youths, had brought progress to the country.

According to him, the group believed that the president had improved the economy and made efforts to address security concerns, including in Kogi State.

The APC chairman also said the youths pointed to appointments given to young Nigerians and infrastructure projects in their state as reasons for their support.

He added that they believed Tinubu deserved another term to continue his work.

Yilwatda described the development as unusual in Nigeria’s political history, saying it was rare to see youths come together to fund a presidential nomination form on behalf of a sitting president.

He added that the party was pleased with their commitment and saw it as a strong show of unity.
