President Bola Tinubu is expected in Kaduna State today (Thursday) for the commissioning of a series of major developmental projects executed by the administration of Governor Uba Sani.

The visit is a highlight of events commemorating the governor’s second anniversary in office and reflects a broader commitment to economic development, healthcare advancement, and youth empowerment in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the President’s arrival in Kaduna marks a significant occasion, particularly for residents eager to witness the outcomes of the administration’s push for transformation.

Among the flagship projects slated for inauguration is the 300-bed Specialist Hospital located in Millennium City. Built by the Kaduna State Government, the hospital is designed to significantly improve healthcare delivery within the state and beyond.

Also on the president’s itinerary is the official unveiling of the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development situated in Rigachikun. This institute is poised to become a hub for youth empowerment through skill acquisition and entrepreneurship, aligning with Governor Sani’s stated priorities of human capital development and job creation.

The President is expected to commission key road infrastructure projects across various local government areas. These include road works in Soba and Samaru Kataf LGAs, the 24-kilometre Kafanchan Township Road, the Tudun Biri Road, and a 22km inter-local government route connecting Kauru and Kubau LGAs.

These transport projects are part of a broader strategy to enhance connectivity, facilitate economic activity, and bridge infrastructural gaps between urban and rural communities.

In Tudun Biri, another Vocational and Skills Training Centre will also be inaugurated. This complements the state’s ongoing investment in education and vocational training as a tool for reducing unemployment and poverty.

Another major highlight of Tinubu’s visit will be the unveiling of 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses. This initiative represents a significant step towards modernising Kaduna’s public transportation system with an emphasis on environmental sustainability and fuel efficiency.

Governor Sani’s administration has described the visit as a proud moment for the state. According to officials, it is an opportunity to present the visible fruits of a governance style focused on inclusive growth and impactful development.

Since assuming office in 2023, Governor Sani has placed strong emphasis on human capital, rural development, and economic expansion. The projects being commissioned serve as milestones in these focus areas.

Tinubu’s Kaduna visit was initially scheduled for Wednesday but was moved to Thursday in light of recent violent attacks in Benue State. The President chose instead to visit Benue on Wednesday, where he expressed sympathy to affected families in Yelwata community, Guma Local Government Area, following an attack that claimed over 50 lives.

While in Benue, he met with traditional rulers, political leaders, and community stakeholders in an effort to find lasting solutions to the region’s security challenges. He condemned the attacks and called for peace, understanding, and stronger intelligence collaboration.

In anticipation of the President’s visit to Benue, the state government had declared a work-free day, encouraging residents to come out in numbers and give the President a warm welcome.

Now in Kaduna, the President’s tour underscores his administration’s focus on strategic partnerships with state governments to drive grassroots development. The visit is also expected to further cement the federal-state synergy that Governor Sani has championed in his governance model.
