Popular Nollywood comic actor, Bamidele Tope Saint, widely known as Okemesi, has been confirmed dead.

Okemesi reportedly passed away after spending a few hours in a coma following complications from drugs administered during treatment at a hospital where he had earlier been admitted.

Announcing his death in a video shared on Instagram, fellow Nollywood actor Jeff Owolewa, popularly known as Tony Montana, said the actor died on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at about 11:50 a.m.

According to Jeff, the doctor on duty pronounced him dead at the stated time, and his body has since been deposited in the mortuary.

“With a heavy heart, I’m announcing to the world that Okemesi is dead. The doctor pronounced him dead at exactly 11:50 a.m. this morning, February 24, 2026. Okemesi is gone,” he said.

He added that the announcement was made on behalf of the Bamidele family and noted that further burial arrangements would be communicated in due course.

Jeff also appreciated those who supported the late actor during his illness and offered prayers for his soul.

Prior to his death, Jeff had appealed to Nigerians for prayers and financial assistance, alleging that Okemesi had been turned away by several hospitals, including government health facilities in Igodo, while seeking medical care.
