The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dismissed all his political aides as part of a move to restructure his administration.
The decision was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan.
According to the statement, those affected include all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants serving under the governor.
“In the ongoing drive to enhance efficiency and deepen service delivery, Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has relieved all political aides of their duties with immediate effect.
“Those affected are Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the Governor.

“The governor thanked them for their contributions to the development of the State thus far and wished them well in their future endeavours,” the statement read.
Despite the mass dismissal, the governor has approved plans to appoint about 1,000 new aides drawn from across the 18 local government areas and 203 wards in the state.
“Meanwhile, in a step to strengthen coordination and inject fresh capacity into the administration, about 1,000 new aides, from across the 203 wards in the 18 local government areas of the state, will be appointed by the governor in due course,” the statement added.
The move is seen as part of efforts by the Aiyedatiwa administration to reorganise governance structures, improve operational efficiency, and broaden political inclusion across the state.
What you should know
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s decision to sack all political aides and appoint 1,000 new ones signals a major restructuring effort aimed at improving governance and service delivery in Ondo State.
While the move may create opportunities for wider political participation, it also raises questions about continuity and administrative stability.
Such large-scale changes are often strategic, especially as political leaders position themselves ahead of future elections and seek to strengthen grassroots connections across all local government areas.
