Former Iran international goalkeeper Rashid Mazaheri has reportedly gone missing after publicly criticising Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
Mazaheri, who played for top Iranian clubs including Esteghlal F.C. and Sepahan S.C., as well as the Iranian national team, is said to have come under scrutiny from security authorities following a controversial social media post.

According to reports by IranWire, security agents allegedly raided Mazaheri’s home after he shared an Instagram post comparing Khamenei to “Satan.” The image reportedly labeled the former leader as “Satan” and included the caption: “Your command over this divine land has come to an end.”
The post was made days before the United States launched military strikes on Iran, at a time of heightened political tension and conflict in the region.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding Mazaheri’s whereabouts. Reports describing him as “missing” remain unverified, and details surrounding the alleged raid have not been independently confirmed.
The situation highlights the risks faced by public figures who openly criticise political leadership in highly sensitive security environments.
