Carter Efe Calls Peller and Jarvis’s Wedding “Just Content”

Nigeria’s raucous streaming scene is once again embroiled in controversy after popular streamer Carter Efe publicly dismissed the recent wedding of fellow TikTok personalities Peller and Jarvis as a scripted content stunt rather than a genuine union.

Speaking during a live broadcast, Carter Efe waded into the swirl of online chatter surrounding the high-profile ceremony, insisting the event was never a real marriage but a carefully engineered piece of entertainment designed to keep audiences hooked.

“They do content, they say na wedding. Yes, na content now. You no know? No be real marriage. Na why dem no invite me,” he said, framing his own exclusion from the guest list as proof of his theory: that the wedding was staged strictly for online engagement, and that his presence with his penchant for stirring drama simply didn’t fit the script.

Carter Efe’s absence from the ceremony did not come as a surprise to those who have followed the tangled relationship between the streamers. In the lead-up to the wedding, Peller had publicly set an unusual condition for Carter Efe’s attendance a ₦50 million deposit into his manager’s account as insurance against potential “damage” at the venue, a demand Peller framed as a reflection of his distrust of the comedian’s antics.

Separately, reports circulated that Carter Efe’s photographs had been posted at the wedding venue’s entrance specifically to bar him from slipping in, with associates of the couple citing fears that he would turn the event into an impromptu livestream or interview session rather than let it proceed as intended.

The friction between the two stars is not new. Carter Efe and Jarvis have clashed before, including a legal threat Jarvis’s team issued against him in mid-2026 over allegations she said amounted to harassment and defamation. That history appears to have hardened the couple’s resolve to keep him at arm’s length from their big day, regardless of the reason ultimately given.

The livestream conversation didn’t stop at the wedding’s authenticity. Attention soon turned to whether the newlyweds might eventually announce a pregnancy, with one of Carter Efe’s co-hosts floating the idea that such news, if it came, would likely be just another manufactured storyline.

“In the next nine months, we go start to dey hear say Jarvis don get Belle. So, that one too na content. It’s just content. The belle too, na just content,” the co-host said.

Carter Efe, however, drew a line at that suggestion, cautioning his colleague against making light of Jarvis’s body or a potential pregnancy. “But leave that woman belle, o,” he said, a rebuke that prompted an immediate walk-back from the co-host, who acknowledged the comment had gone too far. “Okay, na true. Make we no dey talk, allegedly, allegedly. Thank God say I remember. Ah, allegedly. Thank God, he added, hastily recasting the remark as speculation rather than fact.

As of this report, neither Peller nor Jarvis has issued a public response to Carter Efe’s claims that their wedding was orchestrated purely for content rather than a genuine ceremony.

Given the trio’s track record of trading barbs across livestreams and social media, however, observers say a rebuttal or at least a cutting comeback may not be far off.

The episode adds another chapter to a rivalry that has, ironically, generated exactly the kind of engagement Carter Efe accuses the couple of chasing in the first place.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

At the heart of this story is a simple but telling irony: a public feud built on accusations of “fake content” is, itself, generating the very engagement it claims to expose.

Carter Efe’s claim that Peller and Jarvis’s wedding was staged for clicks may or may not hold up, but the bigger takeaway is this: in Nigeria’s streaming culture, the line between real life and performed drama has become so blurred that even a wedding can be treated as suspect, and controversy, whether genuine or manufactured, remains the most reliable currency for staying relevant online.
