President Bola Tinubu has emerged as the first aspirant to obtain the presidential nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Represented by James Faleke, the president secured the form after paying the stipulated ₦100 million fee shortly after the party commenced the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms.

The form was officially presented at the APC national secretariat in Abuja by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu.

The APC had earlier fixed the cost of the presidential nomination form at ₦100 million, a decision that had already attracted criticism from some civil society organisations prior to the commencement of sales.

As of the time of filing this report, no other aspirant had purchased the form, making Tinubu the sole contender to have formally entered the race within the party so far.

The development signals an early start to the ruling party’s internal processes as preparations intensify for the 2027 presidential election.
