Nigerian Governor reveals sponsor of terrorism in Nigeria

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has alleged that the widespread killings and kidnappings are being sponsored by the opposition to smear and distract President Bola Tinubu’s government.

He made the allegation during the launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign for local government elections in Edo South.

According to him, the country is facing security problems that are being used as a tool by political opponents who do not want the current government to succeed.

He insisted that there is no opening for a change of leadership at the presidency, adding that efforts are being made by rivals to create confusion and paint the government in a bad light.Politics

Okpebholo said those behind the attacks have already failed politically and questioned how any group could hope to govern a country where citizens are being targeted. He added that peace must return so that governance can continue smoothly.

The governor said: “They have failed. Have they not failed? Is it by kidnapping children? Then who are you going to govern? There will be nobody for you to govern. So let them give us peace so that we can rule well. There is no vacancy in Aso Rock. What is happening today is the handiwork of the opposition.”
