Popular social media activist, VeryDarkMan, on Thursday led a protest in Abuja as dozens of supporters demanded urgent action to address insecurity, economic hardship and the rising cost of living across the country.
The demonstration, which took place in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, attracted a large number of youths carrying placards with various messages calling for improved security, better governance and economic relief for Nigerians.
Some of the protesters were also seen chanting “Tinubu Must Go” as they marched through the city.
The protest came a day after VeryDarkMan returned to Nigeria from China. On Wednesday night, shortly after arriving in Abuja, the activist staged a separate demonstration that drew public attention.
Thursday’s protest appeared to be a continuation of that action, with participants expressing concern over the security challenges facing different parts of the country.
Several demonstrators pointed to the persistent cases of kidnapping, banditry and killings in many communities, arguing that many Nigerians still live in fear despite repeated assurances from authorities.
Others raised concerns over recent reports of schoolchildren being abducted in Oyo State and the continued security threats affecting rural communities.
During the march, the protesters called on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts against criminal groups responsible for kidnappings, attacks and other violent crimes.
They also urged the authorities to strengthen security around vulnerable communities and educational institutions to protect citizens and restore public confidence.
