PDP Senator Seeks Re-Election

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has formally announced her intention to seek re-election for a second term, citing extensive consultations and continued support from constituents and family.

The declaration was made during the Kogi Central Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Stakeholders’ Meeting, where party leaders and supporters convened to discuss the party’s direction in the district.

In a statement released by her media team in Abuja, the lawmaker said her decision followed months of appeals and endorsements from across the five local government areas of Kogi Central.

“After due consultations and encouragement from my husband, I have accepted your calls to re-contest for a second term as your senator,” she said.

Her announcement comes amid increasing endorsements from party members and community leaders, reflecting strong grassroots backing for her candidacy.

Akpoti-Uduaghan also emphasised the importance of unity within the Peoples Democratic Party, urging stakeholders to prioritise reconciliation and inclusiveness as preparations for future elections intensify.

“This is the time to bring everyone back home. We must reconcile with those who may have had issues, for the betterment of our party and success in the elections ahead,” she added.

Speaking at the meeting, Kogi Central PDP Zonal Chairman, Anthony Akuvada, praised the senator’s leadership, describing her as a transformational figure whose impact has been widely felt across the district.

“Distinguished Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has redefined representation in Kogi Central. Her performance has been exemplary, from infrastructural development to human capital empowerment,” Akuvada said.

He further highlighted her commitment to inclusive governance, noting that her accessibility and consistent engagement with constituents have strengthened public trust.

Akpoti-Uduaghan’s first term has been marked by interventions in education, youth and women empowerment, and advocacy for infrastructure development, earning her support across political and social lines.

The senator also expressed appreciation to her husband, Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Otuoze Uduaghan, describing him as a pillar of strength throughout her political journey.
