Nigerian singer Naira Marley has broken his silence after a Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos, ruled that he and others had no case to answer in connection with the death of Mohbad.

The court’s decision, announced on Tuesday, cleared Naira Marley, his associate Sam Larry, and Prime Boy of any involvement in Mohbad’s tragic passing. However, it ruled that the auxiliary nurse who administered an injection to Mohbad, along with his friend Ayobami, would face prosecution for reckless and negligent acts.

Following the ruling, Naira Marley took to X and Instagram to share verses from the Quran. One of the verses read, “And whoever puts all his trust in Allah, he will be enough for him. (65:3).” Another verse emphasized divine justice, stating, “And ‘remember, O Prophet,’ when the disbelievers conspired to capture, kill, or exile you. They planned, but Allah also planned. And Allah is the best of planners.”

His post comes as discussions continue over the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death and the legal proceedings that have followed.
