Billboard has confirmed that its annual Women in Music celebration will return this spring, tapping multi-hyphenate entertainer Keke Palmer to host and perform at the prestigious awards ceremony honoring female excellence in the music industry.

The announcement, made Thursday, marks another milestone for the Emmy-winning artist, who will take the stage at The Hollywood Palladium on April 29 to preside over an evening dedicated to recognizing the achievements and influence of women shaping today’s musical landscape.

Palmer, whose recent album Just Keke arrived last June, represents a natural choice for the role. Her career spans acting, music, podcasting, and television, making her what Billboard’s Chief Brand Officer Dana Droppo described as the embodiment of the event’s ethos.

“Keke embodies the spirit of Women in Music: fearless, multifaceted, and deeply respected across entertainment and culture,” Droppo said in Thursday’s announcement. “She brings a vivacious energy, sharp perspective, and lovable authenticity that will make this year’s show truly special.”

The ceremony will feature both award presentations and live performances, continuing a tradition that has become one of the industry’s most anticipated annual gatherings. Palmer will pull double duty, serving as master of ceremonies while also delivering a performance during the evening.

Billboard’s Co-Chief Editorial Officer Leila Cobo emphasized the event’s broader mission beyond simply handing out trophies. “Women in Music is about recognizing success and possibility,” Cobo stated. “We’re proud to shine a spotlight on women who are not only making great music but also transforming the industry.”

While this year’s honorees remain under wraps, Billboard confirmed that recipients—including the prestigious Woman of the Year award—will be revealed in the coming weeks. The organization has opened ticket sales and table reservations to the public.

The 2025 edition saw rapper Doechii claim the Woman of the Year honor, joining an illustrious roster of past recipients. Last year’s ceremony also celebrated Gracie Abrams, BLACKPINK’s JENNIE, K-pop group aespa, and rising country star Megan Moroney, among others.

Since its inception, Billboard Women in Music has recognized some of the biggest names in contemporary music, with previous honorees including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, SZA, Charli XCX, Rosalía, and Doja Cat—a who’s who of artists who have not only dominated charts but also reshaped popular culture.

As the April date approaches, industry insiders and fans alike will be watching closely to see which artists will join that distinguished list in 2026 and what surprises Palmer has in store for what promises to be a memorable evening celebrating women’s contributions to music.

Palmer’s selection reflects the event’s commitment to celebrating multifaceted artists who are transforming the industry, continuing a tradition that has previously recognized powerhouses like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and last year’s Woman of the Year, Doechii.
