DDG and Halle Bailey Drop Restraining Orders, Reach Custody Agreement

In what appears to be a significant turning point in their highly publicized split, rapper DDG and actress Halle Bailey have mutually agreed to dismiss domestic violence restraining order requests against each other, according to court documents filed this week.

The former couple, who ended their relationship in October 2024, submitted a joint stipulation that was approved by the presiding judge, marking a dramatic shift from the acrimonious legal proceedings that had characterized their breakup in recent months.

Under the terms of the new agreement, DDG and Bailey have established a temporary custody arrangement for their one-year-old daughter, Halo. The schedule grants DDG custody on Wednesdays and designated weekends, while the parents have also coordinated a holiday visitation calendar. Halloween is the first holiday addressed in the arrangement, allowing the toddler to celebrate with both parents.

Notably, both parties have reserved the right to refile domestic violence claims should any future incidents occur, though legal observers view the mutual dismissal as a positive step toward co-parenting cooperation.

The stipulation includes provisions prohibiting both parents from publicly disparaging one another or posting images of their daughter on social media—two issues that had reportedly been major points of contention during their separation.

The reconciliatory tone may have been set by DDG himself, who recently released “17 More Years,” a track in which the rapper praised Bailey’s parenting abilities and expressed his desire to end their conflict. The song’s title references the years remaining until their daughter reaches adulthood, suggesting a long-term commitment to peaceful co-parenting.

The thawing of tensions represents a stark contrast to the couple’s earlier relationship trajectory. Before Halo’s birth, DDG and Bailey had been vocal about their affection for one another, but their split devolved into bitter court filings that laid bare their personal grievances.

Family law experts often cite communication breakdowns and social media conflicts as common challenges for high-profile separating couples, particularly when children are involved. The agreement to keep their daughter off social platforms and maintain civil public discourse suggests both parties are prioritizing Halo’s well-being over their personal disputes.

As the former couple moves forward with their co-parenting arrangement, their case serves as a reminder that even the most contentious custody battles can find resolution when both parties commit to putting their child first.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Rapper DDG and actress Halle Bailey have set aside their bitter breakup to prioritize their daughter. After months of legal warfare, including mutual domestic violence restraining order requests, the former couple reached a custody agreement for one-year-old Halo and agreed to stop publicly attacking each other.

The peace appears to have been sparked by DDG’s recent song apologizing and praising Bailey’s parenting—proving that even celebrity splits can take a healthier turn when parents put their child first.
