President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Super Falcons on their remarkable triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they clinched their 10th continental title.
The Nigerian women’s team secured a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over host nation Morocco to seal the championship.
The president, in a post on his official X account, praised the team’s commitment and resilience, writing: “They chose to accept this mission. They understood the assignment. Our Superior Super Falcons delivered in true Nigerian fashion. Never say Never. They went. They saw. They have conquered again! 10-time champions of Africa. #MissionX: COMPLETE!”
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu also commended the team’s performance, describing the victory as a “landmark” moment that underscores their hard work and the indomitable Nigerian spirit.
“I celebrate you, our beautiful and lovely Super Falcons, for the landmark victory of your 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations championship,” she said in a statement. “Your resounding 3-2 victory is indeed remarkable and commendable.
