Kendrick Lamar continues his unstoppable reign in the music industry as his May 17 concert at Lumen Field drew a staggering 60,941 fans and grossed $14.8 million—setting a new benchmark for the highest-grossing concert by a rapper.

The sold-out event, part of his ongoing Grand National Tour with SZA, smashed the previous record of $11.8 million, which Lamar himself set just a month earlier at Texas’ AT&T Arena.

The figures were shared by financial platform Wealth via Instagram, highlighting the rapper’s commercial power.

2025 has proven to be a monumental year for Lamar. His electrifying Super Bowl 59 halftime show in February not only made history as the most-watched of all time but also cemented his legacy as a pioneering figure in hip-hop.

Performing during the showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs—which drew 127 million viewers, the highest in Super Bowl history—Lamar’s halftime show alone was watched by 133.5 million people in the U.S., narrowly surpassing Michael Jackson’s iconic 1993 performance.

In a show-stopping moment, Lamar became the first solo hip-hop act to headline the halftime show, delivering hits like Humble, Loyalty, and Money Trees.

He was joined by SZA for a duet of their Grammy-nominated track All The Stars, while legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson narrated the set, adding dramatic flair and guiding the performance’s storyline.

Earlier in the year, Lamar dominated the 67th Grammy Awards, clinching five awards for Not Like Us, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

With these wins, his Grammy count rose to 22—placing him just behind Kanye West (24) and Jay-Z (25) as one of the most awarded rappers in Grammy history.

As the Grand National Tour rolls on, fans  continue to witness Kendrick Lamar redefine not just hip-hop, but live entertainment itself.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

What makes this record  notable is that it surpasses Kendrick’s own previous record of $11.8 million, set just weeks earlier at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.
