Nigerian DJ and media personality DJ Cuppy shared a heartfelt post on X about a betrayal she experienced. She described trusting someone who seemed kind and supportive, only to learn they had hidden motives.
Cuppy revealed that the person was seeking an investment or a connection to her billionaire father, Femi Otedola.
“I learned the hard way that there’s no such thing as a free lunch,” she wrote. “A few years ago, I thought someone was being kind. They showed up for me, offered help, and made me feel supported. I thought it came from a good place… But later, they made it clear they expected something in return—an investment or, hilariously, an introduction to my dad. I felt so stupid for not seeing it earlier.”
Reflecting on the experience, she cautioned others to be discerning, noting that not all offers of support are sincere.
“Learn from me… Not everything that looks like support comes from a good place!” she wrote
