Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have recorded a significant breakthrough in the fight against terrorism with the arrest of a man believed to be a crucial supplier of hard drugs to Boko Haram fighters across communities in Adamawa and Borno states.
The suspect, 45-year-old Zubairu Muhammed, was apprehended by troops of the 232 Battalion (Tactical), operating under Sector 4, during an early morning operation on Thursday in Uba town. His arrest followed sustained intelligence-led surveillance targeted at disrupting the supply chain that fuels terrorist activities in the region.

In a statement released by the theater spokesman, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the suspect is alleged to be a central distributor of cannabis sativa and “ice” substances to insurgents operating in Askira-Uba, Chibok, Michika, and Damboa—areas that have witnessed repeated terror attacks over the years.
Items seized from Muhammed include 14 blocks of cannabis sativa, estimated at over ₦1 million; 43.9 grams of “ice,” worth more than ₦3 million; and two military camouflage T-shirts, which he reportedly used to disguise himself while trafficking the narcotics.

Preliminary findings indicate that the seized drugs and other exhibits will be transferred to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, Yola Command, for further investigation and appropriate action.

The Military High Command has applauded the troops for what it described as an impressive operational feat. It further urged all formations within the theatre to maintain heightened vigilance and continue applying sustained pressure on criminal networks aiding terrorism in the Northeast.
