President Bola Tinubu has directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to travel to Kwara State to assess the recent deadly attack in Woro, Kaiama Local Government Area.

The Vice President departed Abuja to see the situation on ground and engage with relevant authorities over the incident.

The visit follows the violent assault that took place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Woro and nearby Nuku communities.

Armed attackers reportedly carried out a coordinated strike on the rural settlements, leading to the death of several residents and causing fear among people in the area.

During the visit, Shettima is also expected to pass on the President’s assurance that the Federal Government will not rest until those behind the attack are identified, arrested, and made to face the law.

The government has also pledged continued support for the affected communities as security agencies intensify efforts to prevent a repeat of such violence.

Residents of the affected areas have narrated that the attackers had earlier sent messages and letters, claiming they were coming to preach and urging villagers to abandon loyalty to the Nigerian state in favor of extreme beliefs.

The communities rejected those demands before the attack eventually occurred.

The President’s decision to send the Vice President is part of broader efforts by the Federal Government to respond quickly to security threats, comfort victims, and strengthen safety measures across Kwara State and other vulnerable areas.
