President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday departed Abuja for London in the United Kingdom.
He travelled alongside the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The Nigerian leaders are travelling ahead of a state visit to the United Kingdom, where they will be hosted by Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Earlier, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, had disclosed the details of the trip in a statement released on Monday.
According to the statement, King Charles III will host President Tinubu and his wife at Windsor Castle from Wednesday, March 18, to Thursday, March 19.
The visit is described as the first state visit by a Nigerian leader to the United Kingdom in 37 years. President Tinubu will also become the first Nigerian leader to be hosted by the British monarch at Windsor Castle.
Nigeria and the United Kingdom share a long history of diplomatic relations and cooperation.
The visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and explore opportunities for collaboration in areas such as immigration, trade, investment and cultural exchange.
Onanuga added that President Tinubu will return to Nigeria at the end of the state visit.
