Former Nigeria women’s national team goalkeeper, Precious Dede, has joyfully announced the arrival of quadruplets following many years of hoping and praying for children.
The ex-Super Falcons goalkeeper shared the heartwarming news on her Instagram page on Sunday, expressing overwhelming gratitude and happiness at becoming a mother to four babies at once. She described the extraordinary blessing as a powerful reminder that waiting does not mean being forgotten.

Reflecting on her journey, she wrote, “After many years of waiting, God showed up in the most beautiful way—FOUR precious blessings at once. Double the boys, double the girls, quadruple the joy. Our hearts are full beyond words. Years of prayers, tears, and hope… now turned into four miracles. God is faithful. From waiting to overflowing.
“One pregnancy, four heartbeats… endless joy. Proof that delay is not denial. He turned our waiting into wonders. When God writes your story, He makes it beautiful in His time… God didn’t just answer… He overdelivered. Congratulations to my family.”
Dede remains one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in African women’s football history, earning more than 90 international appearances for Nigeria’s senior women’s team during her illustrious career. She stepped away from international football in 2016, a year after featuring in her last FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament in 2015.

Over the course of her career, she represented Nigeria at four editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015. She also competed in three Olympic Games in 2000, 2004 and 2008, and featured in four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournaments in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. During that time, she helped the Super Falcons secure two continental titles in 2010 and 2014.
At club level, before retiring from professional football, Dede played for Delta Queens, Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens in Nigeria, in addition to a stint with Norwegian side Arna-Bjørnar. Her career earned her recognition as one of the continent’s most dependable goalkeepers, admired for her consistency and leadership on the pitch.
