Members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the factional Peoples Democratic Party led by Adolphus Wabara and officials of the party’s interim National Working Committee under Kabiru Tanimu Turaki are currently holding a closed-door meeting with Seyi Makinde at the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.
According to sources familiar with the development, the meeting may be connected to recent reports linking Governor Makinde to a possible presidential ambition on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The sources also suggested that discussions could involve recent security concerns following reported bandit attacks in parts of Ibadan shortly after speculation about Makinde’s alleged presidential interest surfaced.

“The meeting may not be unconnected with recent reports linking Governor Makinde to a presidential ambition on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement, while discussions are also believed to touch on the recent bandit attacks in Ibadan,” a source reportedly stated.
As of the time of filing this report, details of the meeting remained unclear, as discussions were still ongoing behind closed doors.
The development has already fueled fresh political speculation within opposition circles, especially amid ongoing realignments and coalition talks ahead of the 2027 elections.
Governor Makinde, widely seen as one of the influential figures within the PDP, has continued to attract attention regarding his potential future political plans, although no official declaration has been made concerning a presidential ambition.
