Nigerian Singer Spyro Calls on Citizens to Prevent War, Warns Against Foreign Intervention

Popular Nigerian singer Spyro has issued an urgent appeal to his fellow citizens, warning that the responsibility to preserve peace in Nigeria rests squarely on the shoulders of Nigerians themselves, while cautioning against foreign powers who present themselves as saviors.

In a passionate social media statement that has garnered widespread attention, the artist delivered a stark warning about nations offering to “save” Nigeria, asserting that their true intentions are to “kill, steal, and destroy.”

The message comes amid growing tensions in the country, though Spyro did not specify particular foreign actors or detail the exact nature of the crisis he referenced.

The singer made a direct appeal to Nigeria’s influential voices—celebrities, religious leaders, content creators, and business owners—urging them to break their silence during what he described as “a very critical moment” for the nation. His message was unequivocal: the time for neutrality has passed.

“This is not a time for anyone with a platform to keep quiet,” Spyro wrote, emphasizing the gravity of the situation facing Nigeria.

In a particularly pointed argument aimed at his fellow entertainers, the artist painted a grim picture of what war would mean for their livelihoods and relevance. He warned that if conflict erupts, surviving citizens would be consumed with the basic struggle for survival, leaving no room for entertainment or leisure.
“Guess what superstar, every surviving person will be too busy looking for what to eat and no one will have time to listen to music, watch movies/contents, go to Church/Mosque, talkless do business,” he stated bluntly.

Central to Spyro’s message was a call for public figures to use their platforms to demand accountability from the Nigerian government. He urged them to press authorities on concrete actions being taken to address the current situation, whatever its specific nature.

The singer’s rhetoric suggested a deep skepticism about external solutions to Nigeria’s challenges, instead emphasizing self-determination and local action. “No one is coming to save US, they are only coming to KILL, STEAL AND DESTROY,” he wrote, capitalizing key words for emphasis.

Drawing on religious imagery, Spyro invoked biblical language to characterize what he sees as deceptive foreign interests. “The Devil always disguises as an angel of light,” he warned, suggesting that offers of international assistance mask more sinister motives.

His message concluded with another appeal to platform holders: “What better time to use our platforms than now to demand that the government do the necessary to avoid this danger looming.”

The statement reflects growing anxiety among some Nigerians about both internal stability and external interference, though the specific catalysts for Spyro’s warning remain unclear from his post alone.

His call represents a rare instance of a mainstream entertainer taking a strong political stance and explicitly calling on peers to do the same.

As of now, there has been no official government response to Spyro’s statements, and the broader context of the “danger looming” he referenced would require further investigation to fully understand.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Nigerian singer Spyro has issued an urgent warning that Nigeria’s fate lies in its own hands, not with foreign powers. He’s calling on all influential Nigerians—especially celebrities, religious leaders, and content creators—to immediately use their platforms to demand government accountability and prevent the country from sliding into war.

His core message: those claiming to save Nigeria actually intend to “kill, steal, and destroy,” and if conflict erupts, everyone—including the famous and powerful—will be too busy surviving to maintain their influence. The time for silence, he insists, is over.
