The Franco British International University in Kaduna has appointed former senator and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Shehu Sani, as its new Chancellor.
Reacting to the appointment, Sani described it as a great honour and pledged to support the institution in maintaining high academic standards and achieving its educational objectives.

Announcing the development on his X account, the former lawmaker expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him by the university.
“It is a great honour to be appointed Chancellor of the Franco British International University. We shall work towards sustaining and elevating its highest academic reputation and standards, and strengthening the institution to achieve its noble goals,” he stated.
Sani also reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the growth and development of the institution through effective leadership and support for academic excellence.
The appointment comes shortly after he emerged as the APC candidate for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election.
He secured the party’s ticket through a direct primary election after efforts by stakeholders to reach a consensus candidate did not succeed.
