Liverpool’s Winning Streak Ends With 2-1 Defeat At Crystal Palace

Liverpool’s flawless Premier League start came to a halt on Saturday as they suffered a dramatic 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Ismaila Sarr put Palace ahead early on after Liverpool failed to clear a corner, exposing their defensive frailties. The Reds, who had relied on late goals to secure their first five wins of the season, looked set for another escape when Federico Chiesa equalised in the 87th minute.

However, Eddie Nketiah struck in stoppage time, sending Palace fans into raptures and condemning the defending champions to their first league loss of the campaign.

The win extends Palace’s remarkable unbeaten run to 18 matches in all competitions, including three consecutive results against Liverpool. The victory also lifts them to second place in the table, just three points behind the Reds. Arsenal could reclaim second if they beat Newcastle on Sunday.

Liverpool’s perfect start to the season ended with a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace, who are now the Premier League’s only unbeaten side after an 18-game run.

Late goals had previously rescued the champions, but this time Eddie Nketiah’s stoppage-time strike handed Palace a famous victory and tightened the title race.
