Iran’s elite military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has vowed to target Benjamin Netanyahu as the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States continues to escalate.

In a statement published on the Guards’ official website, Sepah News, the group issued a direct threat against the Israeli leader.

“If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will continue to pursue and kill him with full force,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have arrested at least 20 individuals in the country’s northwest on suspicion of cooperating with Israel, according to local media reports on Sunday.

The arrests were carried out during security raids in West Azerbaijan Province, where officials said they uncovered networks allegedly linked to Israel.

According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, provincial prosecutor Hossein Majidi confirmed that the suspects were detained after being accused of transmitting sensitive information.

“Twenty people were arrested and detained” after authorities discovered they had been “sending details of military, law enforcement and security locations to the Zionist enemy,” the report said.

The latest arrests are part of a broader crackdown across Iran, where security agencies have reportedly detained hundreds of individuals in recent days over suspected collaboration with Israel and the United States.

Mojtaba Khamenei

Tensions in the region have intensified since the conflict erupted on February 28 following coordinated strikes by Israel and the United States that killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

The attack triggered retaliatory actions from Tehran and marked the beginning of a wider confrontation that has drawn in multiple actors across the Middle East.

What you should know

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is one of Iran’s most powerful military and political institutions, responsible for protecting the country’s Islamic system and conducting military operations abroad.

The current conflict began after joint US-Israeli strikes targeted key Iranian leadership figures, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Since then, tensions have escalated across the region, with Iran launching retaliatory attacks and conducting internal crackdowns on individuals suspected of spying for foreign powers.
