An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, on Wednesday cleared Comfort Emmanson, a passenger earlier accused of disorderly conduct and assault during an Ibom Air flight.
Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami dismissed the five-count charge against Emmanson after the police formally withdrew the case.
The charges alleged she disrupted peace on the flight, assaulted a crew member, and acted in a way that could breach public order. She had denied the allegations at her arraignment.
During the proceedings, Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan informed the court that both the complainant and the airline no longer wished to proceed with the matter. Acting on instructions from police authorities, she requested the withdrawal of the case.
Magistrate Salami subsequently approved the request, resulting in Emmanson’s discharge.
